About me
I realized my love about filmmaking at the age of 20, while I was studying Civil Engineering in Thessaloniki. The only way to train myself at that moment was to watch limitless "how to" videos and try to understand all the aspects of creating a movie. As a result, before finishing my studies in Civil Engineering I had filmed 3 amateur short films as a "one man orchestra" with the available no budget DIY equipment I had, and 1 Feature Film that did a multi-awarded journey in International Film Festivals (Dark Illusion, 71', 2014 ).
After that, I decided that I want to work in Film Industry and went to Athens to study Film. While I was studying there, I made 3 Student Shorts and had the chance to work as an Assistant Editor for 9 months next to one of the biggest Greek Editors at the moment, Lampis Charalambides, and then as an assistant Editor and 2nd AD next to Tassos Boulmetis, one of the greatest Greek Directors. The next 3 years I had a lot of experience on set as a Script Supervisor and AD, in Shorts, Ads and TV Series. I worked for 8 months in a major Greek TV Series about World War I as a Casting Extras and 3rd AD. I had to cast 1000 Extras and Direct them on Set,in a very strict schedule.
My next destination was Nu Boyana Film Studios in Sofia, where I went with a scholarship from Greek National Center of Audiovisual Media and Communication. I had the chance to work in the highest level for 3 months and create two short films there. The first one was a 36 hour challenge to film a 2-minutes Phone Camera Action Movie. With this movie I won 2 awards in the FilmForgeFest 2019 (Best Picture and Best Director) and a price of giving me the chance to direct one short film using the facilities of the Studio. So I created my last Short "Strawberries".
I have great passion with cinema (audiovisual arts, to be precise) and I can do almost everything, including Directing,Scriptwriting, Scheduling, AD, Script Supervising, Editing (Premiere, Avid, DaVinci), Camera Operating, Basic Lighting, Casting, VFX (Adobe After Effects, Photoshop). I have 10 years of experience in filmmaking (4 years as a pro) and I love using my computer (Office, MM Scheduling, Shot Designer, Final Draft, Wordpress for creating websites). My Masters Degree in Civil Engineering(although I never worked as an Engineer) boosted my skills in organizing and completing projects, communicating, teamworking and being responsible and reliable.
I moved recently in Netherlands to follow my dream, because the working environment and salaries in Greece didn't fulfill me. I am interested in doing any kind of job that helps me become part of the Dutch Film Industry, so I am open to suggestions!
