About me

Manan Subra (born January 18) is a Malaysian film director, Editor, Cinematographer

and Screenwriter, best known for extreme sports, wild life documentaries, emotional,

horror dramas, music videos. Currently Manan finished his feature film debut 2015,

title Ais Kosong.

Early Life

Manan was born in Bukit Mertajam, Penang and raised in Alma, Taman Sejahtera. He

was started his primary school life in SRJK (T) Bukit Mertajam and high school in SMK

Taman Sejahtera. Manan gets his first interest in this field when he was in high school

he did few short films with his friends. His role model such as Zack Snyder and

Syamsul Yusof gave him a big motivation to enter in this film industry.

Career

He gets an opportunity to learn and improve his skills from the famous TV director,

Mr. Dakseli. Throughout all his guidance he improvises his technical knowledge and

editing skills in post-production. Many travelogues, television movies, documentaries,

dramas, music videos and TV advertisements, he works as assistant director, editor,

cinematographer and screenwriter. In his career his works with some famous person

like Gambit Saifullah, Natasha, Alif aziz, Amber Chia, Lisa surihani, Kru Yusry, Dr.Burn,

(Mantera FILM Director) Mr. Aliyar, and gave him best exposure in this film industry.

Mentionable projects throughout his career like Naduvan music video, 'Paadagan

Music video, 'Avan oru Thodarkathai' Television movie. Manan started his first

independent film on 2012 - Rise of Robin Hood, about true story of 'Botak Chin' was

one of the most notorious and dangerous gangster during the 1960s and 1970s in

Malaysia. Because of few reason this film never release yet. After 3 years all his

experience and skill in editing, cinematography, screenwriting and directing gave his

big try in a theatrical - feature film 'Ais Kosong'.
