About me
I have been working for the last 2 years at Tilt Design Studio in Johannesburg South Africa, but have taken a year's leave of absence to work in Europe. In my time at Tilt Design Studio I have had the opportunity to gain experience in many different areas of design. I have been exposed to corporate, retail and domestic design with a large emphasis on restaurant design. In addition to design my duties have included administration as well as dealing with and preparing quotes, invoices and orders. I have also been involved with the procuring and sourcing of appropriate finishes and furnishings.
As part of my design scope of work I was required to be involved in and complete tasks such as conceptualisation presentations, mood & sample boards, computer generated renders, design presentations, logo/graphic design & brand development. Technical layouts included; furniture & equipment layout, construction layout, services layout, electrical layout, wall & floor finishes layout, elevations layout, joinery(shopfitting) layouts.
I enjoy meeting and working collaboratively with clients, as well as seeing a job through from start to finish. I enjoy all aspects of working in a design position whether it be conceptualisation, draughting, liasing with clients and suppliers, site visits and administration. I am also eager and willing to learn in order to fulfill any duties necessary of me.
I completed my B-Tech in Interior design at the University of Johannesburg in 2009 and I would like to enquire whether I could be of any assistance to you in the following year on this basis. I also worked part time both at Kim-h and Mana's Design and Detail while completing my studies. I am passionate about art and design, and achieved consistently good grades during my course. I am disciplined and hard working, positive and fun loving, and work well in a team or alone. My CV summarises the jobs I have done in the last years. It would be a wonderful opportunity for me if it were possible to continue my career by acquiring a job opportunity at your company. It would be the perfect platform to gain more experience and further my passion and career, as well as offering my skills to benefit your company.
I am proficient in Word, Excel, Autocad, Revit and Coral draw, however would be eager to learn any other program if necessary.
I will be based in the UK as from mid January 2012, as I am hoping to work and travel over the course of this year (2012). In this regard I am looking for and happy to be employed in any field that would be suitable to the skills I have acquired. Ideally I am looking to be involved in Interior Design, however I would be happy to fall into any position I may be needed in i.e. administration, draughting etc.
My design and construction draughting portfolio is available to be sent on request.
