About me

I started my career in the ceramic industry at 17 when I was accepted as an Apprentice Ceramic Artist with Spode.

I served a full ten year apprenticeship with Spode and then moved on to Minton as a freehand ceramic artist for 2 years, following which I moved to a similar position with with Royal Doulton.

Three years later I was transferred to Royal Doulton Designs Studio - Nile Street where my talent for original surface pattern design was recognised and I was appointed a ceramic surface pattern designer for Royal Doulton, I then went on to produce many successful designs for the company, several of which have recently seen the light of day as successful designs.

I left Royal Doulton in the mid 90 s to become a successful and sought after freelance ceramic surface pattern designer working for the then many companies in and around Stoke on Trent.

After a period of some 15 months I was recruited as ceramic surface pattern designer with an international ceramics company with offices in the UK, New York and Indonesia.

My work for the company included the creation of a great many successful commercial designs, sold throughout the world.

I also was largely instrumental in the layout, design and creation of many display stands for her company for the International Frankfurt Fair where her talents were once again on full view to the word as a successful designer.

I now works from her own studio in Newcastle under Lyme in the UK where I continue to create outstanding commercial designs for companies in Europe and around the World.
