About me

I completed an Advanced Diploma of Multimedia at RMIT in 2006 majoring in 2D animation. Since that time I have completed several projects as a freelance designer, worked for 6 months as a junior print designer and achieved finalist positions in two separate competitions for my animation (see my resume for links to competition websites).

I have always been a keen illustrator. I am very adaptable with my drawing and able to achieve many different styles from comical, character-driven cartoons to more realistic styles drawing from life, to stylized drawing. I regularly draw political cartoons for the news website New Matilda (*).

I use several different processes to create digital illustration depending on the style required. For some projects I draw directly into the computer using a Wacom drawing tablet and usually within the Flash interface. For other projects I use a light table to create pen outlines before scanning these into the computer and converting them to vector artwork in Illustrator. I find this process gives crisp line work which can be coloured in Photoshop.

I have taken life drawing classes in an effort to broaden my drawing skills. I routinely incorporate my illustration into web and screen based multimedia productions for contests or for clients. I have successfully completed many freelance commissions requiring broadly different styles of illustration.
