Dear Creative Pool,
I am enclosing my Creative CV in order to reply for the Freelance Retoucher position as advertised on your website. I am a recent Fine Art graduate with two years of freelance retouching experience.
Working as a freelance retoucher has given me a high level of competence at organising large amounts of files; cropping, resizing, colour balancing, compositing, deleting blemishes and overall upholding a high level of quality and a high volume output. I have experience in a wide range of E-Commerce areas and can confidently edit still life, model, flats and invisible mannequin images to a high level. As a freelancer I have worked in both the studio and from a remote location; I thoroughly enjoy the fast paced studio environment but am also very competent at working remotely managing my own schedule. I find in both situations I am able to keep a good level of communication with all studio departments and can adapt to changing deadlines and constantly updating style guidelines. Reading shoot lists and keeping up to date with products coming up for editing, ensuring images are filed correctly and carrying out any special editing notes from either the client or photographer is another part of my daily duties that I am very competent at. Currently I have undertaken the challenge of teaching myself more creative editing techniques; learning to edit skin and beauty shots, texture grafting and also applying more creative uses of colour to my images. I feel it is important to constantly challenge myself and develop my skills to the highest standard.
My skills as a freelance photographer compliment my retouching experience. I have covered a wide range of subjects from wedding, music event, corporate PR, fashion and landscape giving me great practice in shooting and editing each subject with a different approach. I believe my photography skills have given me a great eye for composition and style, an ability to draw the eye to the subject or product and the competence to deal with changing light and environment. Both as a photographer and retoucher I have a versatile approach and enjoy meeting each challenge and improving my working practice for myself and my employers.
A Freelance Retouching position at would give me the fantastic opportunity expand my client base through a very well respected recruitment agency. I am looking join a versatile working environment that will benefit from my current skill set but also encourage me to grow and progress through my career; any opportunity to expand my knowledge and work with a growing number of clients is a great asset to my work flow.
