Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you regarding the possibility of work within your organization 'Boulder Media'. I am a recent graduate from The University of Manchester with a 2.1 BSc Hons Zoology degree and have an enormous passion for TV production and animation as well as the media industry in general. I am looking for an opportunity to learn new skills as well as further develop my knowledge within this industry and I am prepared to work extremely hard at any given tasks. I would sincerely appreciate being considered for possible vacancies within your company whether entry- level positions or work experience opportunities. Working for a company like 'Boulder Media', I believe, would provide me with invaluable experiences that would enhance my dream of a career within the TV production industry.

During my time at school I had a major role in the monthly production of the Institution's magazine that covered stories ranging from sports results, individual achievements and curriculum updates. Furthermore I attended team sports matches on a regular basis, which I then filmed and edited to produce short movies to be shown in assemblies. Not only did these update students on results but I hoped it would encourage more to join the teams once they had seen the visual content on how much fun and success could be gained from taking part. I continued my interest in communicating ideas to the public in University where I regularly wrote articles to be published within the 'ZooSoc' newsletter that was sent to all zoology students. Due to my dedication to this I was one of the ten people in my year to be chosen to complete a 'Science and the Media' dissertation. I filmed and edited an advert campaign to be aired on national television, educating people on the decline of the native bumblebee as well as giving advice on how to boost populations, for which I gained a 1st grade result. During my degree I also gained valuable research skills, both practically in the laboratory as well as theoretically.

I believe that I could be a valuable addition to your team and would love the opportunity to be part of an experienced animation production company, which should give opportunities for future career development. I believe my skills are well suited to the production sector and believe I can make a positive contribution to 'Boulder Media'. Your company is renowned for its excellence within the industry and this would be a great opportunity for me to realize my ambitions.
