About me

As an individual who has been involved in the organisation and co-ordination of a variety of events for the past 10 years, it would be an honour to be able to lend my skills to a creative company in need of an event professional with extensive design and production experience.

I am currently working as a Freelance Event Planner in London after selling a successful event design and decorating business in Newcastle, which I set up as a fresh graduate in 2007 and ran for four years. Setting up and running my own business demonstrates my resourcefulness, energy and enthusiasm for engaging in new challenges. Selling this business for a profit, just four years after starting the operation from scratch, highlights my commitment, drive and ability to deliver results. I believe that these skills would enable me to add real value to any company.

Running an events business often required multi tasking, managing a wide variety of tasks from strategic planning and logistical organisation to venue liaison and hands on people management. It also required me to carry out all marketing tasks to allow the business to grow and reach new clients. This business, along with my freelance event managing and planning, has allowed me to acquire extensive experience in managing venues and staff, as well as monitoring performance against budgets.

Although I specialise in events, I'm know by many as a 'jack of all trades'. As a freelancer I regularly lend my hand to short term work at set design and prop making studios, and have worked on projects for Alexander McQueen, Selfridges, Cabaret, Million Dollar Quartet and various international clients in the field of architectural installations.

Socially, my mind rarely strays from the world of events and design, I feel infinitely spoiled in London for the variety of cultures, entertainment and space that lends itself to such a vast array of functions. I believe an event is more than just a venue, food, entertainment and guests. A truly successful event requires meticulous planning and a creative mind to ensure that the perfect atmosphere and guest experience is created. I pride myself on my ability to articulate and produce outstanding and unique events, of any size and of any nature.

Having managed events ranging in scale from intimate weddings to large scale corporate fund raisers, I have become an excellent communicator, dealing regularly with a huge range of clients from brides and grooms and venues to celebrities and Managing Directors. I believe that the key to the success of these relationships has been my ability to deliver exceptional results within tight time scales and budgets and the ability to communicate with so many different people.
