About me
Recently was a location assistant for a Channel 5 documentary: The Most Scenic Railway Journeys in the World. In this role I was required to plan logistical routes, effective shooting locations and times in line with the train times for the drone operator, who was unfamiliar with the area. I also, when required, assisted in shooting camera footage alongside the drone operator when he needed an extra pair of hands whilst using the drone.
Alongside my day job, I have also shot an advert for a local business, in which I had to work and communicate closely with the client to shoot what they required, and would meet their specification. I had to plan the shoot and the equipment required for said shoot, whilst also self-editing the footage to deliver it to the client effectively and within the discussed time-frame. The client was incredibly happy with my work, and I delivered it on time and to the discussed requirement.
Whilst at university I was also able to build upon my confidence and ability to work within a team. Although my initial team was unsuccessful, I was able to learn from previous mistakes made to become a better communicator and was informed that in fact, my team in my third year was one of the most relaxed. This was, I believe, down to the vigorous organisation of my shoot and that I made a point of giving everyone a job and making that individual fully aware of what was expected of them. I believe that everyone has a strength, and working in a team is the ability to utilise that strength within your members whilst communicating any issues or not, to one another and helping one another. This is something I have carried over to my day job as a Customer Service Advisor, in which teamwork is a paramount aspect of the job. On one occasion a fellow colleague came to me stating that he was concerned that he would not be able to finish his designated task in time and so I offered to help him and this meant that he was able to finish this task. I have also built up a confidence in working with people outside of my team, such as the general public and talent, having to organise my actors and my equipment for my graduation film shoot, one of the actors coming to me and stating how wonderful it had been to work with me.
Although I am currently based in Mid Wales, I am more than open to relocating for work and am open to all hours of work, being familiar with this within my current day job.
