About me

Born Dunfermline, Fife 1982.

Throughout my three year degree course, my work has transformed from reflecting a wide range of interests and subjects to becoming more concerned with, and specialising in, cultural themes. As the projects have developed I have looked more and more attentively at our cultural system, studying how it works and its influences; by looking at why we are the way we have come to be and analysing these subjects in my photographs.

Photography to me has truly become a journey of discovery, which has enabled me to explore and articulate my ideas and questions about my culture and the society I have been brought up in. The most rewarding approach has been to turn the things that we are back on to ourselves and thus reveal ourselves for what we are.

Having just graduated from Southampton Solent University I am now looking to develop a long term career in the photographic and/or similar industries. The aspirations for my future career focus heavily on the commercial side of the photographic practice. I have gained valuable experience working as an in-house photo-editor for a photographic production company, which has given me the opportunity to further my knowledge of the industry.
