About me

My practice revolves around creating absurd and surreal animations that reflect an inner world I often struggle to express through words alone. I'm drawn to the freedom of animation, the ability to create literally anything and bring life to ideas that may have started as a passing joke, strange thought, or fleeting image.

Creativity has always been important to who I am. Growing up, I knew I wanted to be an artist in some capacity, though I never knew exactly where I fit within the creative world. I was fascinated by everything: textiles, fine art, model-making, digital media - you name it. Animation wasn't an obvious path at first, despite making my first "film" at ten years old with my sister using an old digital camera, a rubber duck, the Mystery Machine, and cans from the cupboard arranged into a makeshift cityscape.

Many of my formative memories are tied to animation and comedy. Watching The Simpsons at 5pm on Channel 4 became part of my childhood routine, and its humour and visual storytelling continue to influence my work today. My 2D animations are also shaped by shows such as King of the Hill and Beavis and Butthead alongside the surreal and chaotic energy of early YouTube animations like Salad Fingers, Charlie the Unicorn, and Badger Badger Badger.

At 23, a friend introduced me to Adobe After Effects, and I began teaching myself animation in my spare time. A year later, I made the decision to leave my job and fully commit to pursuing animation by coming to university. Four years on, I am graduating with a deeper understanding of my creative practice and an eagerness to continue developing my work within the animation industry and beyond.
