About me

I am a contemporary painter and freelance illustrator based in the South of England.

My first picture book, The Princess And The Fog, a story about a young girl who begins to suffer from depression will be released this year by Jessica Kingsley Publishers. When I'm not writing and illustrating picture books or teaching, I am usually freelancing. Illustration clients include Food Kiosks, Ltd., entertainment website The Let's Play Archive, web designer Daniel Sexton and online humourist Bobby Cowling.

I'm interested in trying out new techniques, experimenting with mixtures of wet and dry media and making a huge mess and getting paint and ink all over all of my clothes and possessions. I'm a particularly big user of acrylic paint, watercolour pencils, ink and old yellowing magazines and sheet music. I like to tackle projects with a certain simplicity, light-heartedness and sense of humour that makes my work adaptable for audiences of all ages and suitable for a wide variety of purposes.
