About me

Hello my name is Liz Stott, I am about to graduate from a BA degree in Fashion Illustration at the London College of Fashion, and I can't think of a more suitable place for me to work! I have a huge passion for fashion, however I would love the chance to combine this with my creative and visual skills. I have worked as a freelance illustrator whilst studying for 4 years and have produced work for various publications, websites, film directors and record labels including designing vinyl covers on sale in such stores as HMV. Furthermore I have had my artwork exhibited at the venues 93 Feet East in Brick Lane and The Good Ship in Kilburn.

During my degree I have produced work for the fashion designer Mary Katrantzou, Marvel Comics, Diesel and the charity Jeans for Genes.

I worked for 6 months as the Art Director's assistant at the fashion magazine Super Super, where I gained plenty of experience in InDesign and Photoshop doing page layouts and illustrations. I also got to research for many of their articles on fashion and music, style shoots, edit text and interview people. In addition to this, I have gained work experience in the fashion department at The Guardian. Furthermore for my degree I created my own music magazine called 'itch illustrated', featuring up and coming bands, which I designed and illustrated entirely myself.

I have 3 years work experience in retail, working as a Merchandise Sales Specialist at the London production of the musical play Wicked. Here I gained many skills such as monitoring stock, handling money and cashing up at the end of every shift, working within a team to create the best possible experience and environment for paying customers, and interacting with the public and dealing with complaints.

I also am a lead singer/guitarist in a band called Liz and the Ligers and we are constantly gigging all around London. Music is a huge part of my life and I feel music and fashion are so closely related that my experience in this field can only be a good thing, and I am constantly being made aware on what is up and coming.

I would relish the chance to come and work for you, this job would be perfect for me. I have plenty of experience in retail and fashion, but primarily I am an artist, and if its a visual eye you are after, then count me in. I graduate in July at the age of 22, but I am very eager to learn and develop my skills, and I personally think there is no better way to do that than on the job! I really hope you consider me for this role, it is exactly the position I am after.

Yours sincerely,

Liz Stott
