Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing with regards to your advertised job opportunity of Luxury Packaging Designer. I believe I match with the expected profile and I'm willing to bring my enthusiasm, creativity and interdisciplinary skills into your client's company, a luxury in-house company.
As a Packaging Project Manager at Parrot SA, a reputable technology company, I manage the development of packaging for new products. This starts from the brief phase to the mass production. This job has developed and evolved my project management as well as my design skills which are mandatory to match with the company's culture but also to bring innovation to the market.
I create the packaging design brief along with Parrot's CEO, Marketing Directors and Business Development members. This involves preliminary market analysis, customer identification and feedback from previous products as well as brainstorming sessions that I lead.
From the brief, I must present concepts as well as 3D renderings and at a later stage, prototypes to my internal clients within deadlines. At this point I integrate innovation opportunities that I have identified (materials, customer experience...), technology and industry knowledge together with the project economic data (target costs, budget...).
Leading the technical packaging team with the responsibility of the packaging design, I am in charge of the coordination between the multi-disciplinary internal stakeholders of the project as well as overseeing suppliers and design agencies. For instance, during the strategic development of the Parrot Flower Power product packaging, I succeeded to match the CEO's and Design agency's expectations with the project target cost.
Moreover, I must make sure that deliverables are handled in time and within budget as well as reporting advancement during the project. When new products are launched I am also in charge of the procurements for the packaging components.
Within Parrot, I have been recognised as a successful project manager and packaging designer. In fact, I have been given the responsibility of the development of product accessories and spare parts.
Prior to my position at Parrot, I completed an internship with the leading beauty and cosmetics company, L'Oreal. Within my role in the company I had to present innovative propositions for a range of products with pre determined targeted markets. I generated ideas through the use of mood boards and brainstorming and I would then visualise them with sketches and renderings. Upon completing the initial designs, I would then create prototypes and provide CAD designs for suppliers to produce samples. I was able to successfully propose pertinent products to internal brands and Marketing managers, which would lead to the development of new products and to a patent application.
I am a hardworking candidate with a problem solving mind-set along with a passion for each product that I handle.
