About me
I am a copyeditor and proofreader.
I have experience in the publishing industry as a Production Editor. In this role I was responsible for copyediting and proofreading articles for a list of 16 journals. This required a strong knowledge of the English language including syntax, grammar, and punctuation. I am familiar with both following and creating style guidelines. My organisation skills allow me to work well under pressure and prioritise my workload so that all deadlines are met.
My more recent role as Head of NPD at Modern Baker required me to write copy for product packaging and online product descriptions. I was also involved with writing and copyediting text for websites, newsletters, trade press and marketing materials. I was required to apply SEO principles to marketing and social media materials I produced. Additionally, I have recently completed an MSc in Sports Nutrition which required great attention to detail and the ability to parse a great deal of information and isolate pertinent material.
I can adapt quickly to changing situations and new opportunities. I am able to use common sense to find practical solutions to problems and achieve positive results in high-pressure situations. I have experience working in a small team that required flexibility and the ability to take on more than one role at a time.
