Dear Sir or Madam,
It is with great pleasure that I would like to introduce myself as an applicant for a Junior Artworker position at your esteemed company. I have had a fascination with art since childhood. I graduated from the University of West London in 2011 with a First Class Honours degree in Photography and Digital Imaging. Given my professional education and work experience in a similar role, I believe that I am a strong candidate for this position. My professional career began during my studies, granting me practical skills to combine with formal education. This not only helped me to graduate with excellent results, but also to bolster my knowledge with practice.
Last year I was asked to help establish a gallery named 18 East Gallery, on the beautiful Isle of Bute off the west coast of Scotland. I was first point of contact for the gallery clients, and it was imperative that I delivered the best possible experience to our visitors and potential clients. I have a great ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Also, I am both cooperative and able to work independently in order to fulfill company needs. Working in the gallery allowed me to be involved in diary and database management, researching potential new artists, scheduling appointments and meetings with artist or clients, handling customer inquires via email or phone, generating sales, creating catalogues, organizing transport for artwork, planning exhibitions, maintain office calendars, and creating and developing client list, among many other responsibilities. In addition, I am able to ensure security and privacy of data, maintain an online database of business contacts and perform other critical administrative and office responsibilities as assigned.
I would utilize my experience and skills to provide value and quality customer service to your customers and employees. In addition to my reception related strengths, I have substantial computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs as well as different operating systems such as Windows or Mac OSX. Also, as a photography graduate I have an advanced level in Photoshop. During my time in the gallery I was helping design promotional materials, managing social media accounts and maintaining gallery website. This opportunity would be ideal, fulfilling my interests and ambitions.
