About me
I am a 24 year old half English, half Iranian from South London. I graduated from the University of Leeds with a 2:1 Masters degree in Product Design, after which I took every penny I owned and went off on a 7 month trip around South America. My time at Leeds was mainly spent juggling my degree, football and the occasional quiet evening out. Whilst at University I played 4 years of 1st XI football, held the position of Social Secretary for 2 years and also founded and captained Leeds Futsal.
I enjoy all areas of design, as long as they are interesting or at least look nice. I have industry experience in UX, strategy, copywriting and graphic design however I am first and foremost a 3D designer, full of ideas and a few laughs.
After initially joining Landor on a 2 month graphic design internship, I naturally gravitated towards the 3D projects and soon made the transition into the 3D team where I then spent 6 months working on anything that had an element of 3D. Although the projects varied from office design to luxury car brand pitches, each had a consistent theme which was translating a brands story and ethos accurately and creatively into a 3D medium. Understanding and creating the story behind each brief was fundamental to its success as it provided a platform that allowed us to design spaces that engaged people effectively. An idea or a story alone is not enough however and my experience in previous agencies along with the skills i developed at University meant I could communicate ideas effectively across a variety of 2D and 3D channels, whether it be to design directors or clients. My background in product design means I am always thinking how something can be physically produced and the range of flat-pack office furniture that I designed and manufactured during my time at start-up company 'Humbleworks' shows I have proven experience in transforming an idea into a marketable reality. I love concept generation, throwing out ideas that may not be feasible in reality but provide the creative spark for the next idea, however in a commercial agency it is important to be able to create a commercially viable solution from these ideas.
I initially got into design through a love of illustration and it is something I still love to do to this day. Over the years it has developed into graphic design and alongside my professional career I always try and have a few projects going on the side. Whilst working at Landor I began freelancing for 'Proatar,' creating all graphic elements for their cricket coaching app which is looking to be launched this summer. My time management skills and self discipline meant I could effectively work remotely to deadlines, fitting in an extra day of work a week alongside other commitments.
I have proved I can effectively work in a variety of environments, from industry leading agencies to small start-ups, and am looking forward to applying my skills and furthering my experience in the next challenge.
