About me
I have currently finished studying Visual Communications in Graphic Design at the University of Wolverhampton, during my 3 years I have learned how to tackle a variety of briefs from live competitions to final major projects but also to accomplish the best possible outcome by thinking of innovative approaches that no one else could think of.
During previous work experience I have gained the understanding of how a business works and the key elements it demands to be successful, from this I used my own skills, a new found sense of initiative to create my own amateur business 'Dare Apparel', a clothing brand which turned out to be a considerable success. This shows everyone I'm capable of running a business independently; from the illustration side of the designs and graphical side of the website design to the business and financial side from keeping everything organised in addition to working under pressure to get the best for the consumer. I gained a varied range of enterprising skills; such as financial understanding, innovation and illustrational design. This shows I am motivated, passionate and committed in what I do but also I gained confidence as a designer and business competitor. The idea was also to help me accomplish higher qualifications within my Graphic Design course at Halesowen College which I achieved the highest grades possible; D*D*D* which supported me getting into all my University choices. The skills that I have learned through my experience will aid me in achieving future opportunities as they have helped me increase my confidence and my communication abilities with new people but it also shows that I'm willing to learn. From this I have been offered various graphic design jobs from a range of clients, this suggests I have the skills and understanding to work in a business environment. During previous retail work experiences I have gained the knowledge of customer interaction; this will aid my career by dealing with clients. Recently I have pushed into what I would love to do as a future career, designing film and TV posters. From this I have designed and illustrated a variety of posters, which I currently sell on Etsy. this informs clients that I would do anything to aid my career in graphic design.
