About me
Having received a BA (HONS) in interior design at Manchester
Metropolitan University, I am looking to further my career within the
industry. I am an extremely motivated and ambitious individual and my
goal is to become fully immersed within a fast paced, commercial design
team. I have 18 months experience as an interior design tutor at the
National Design Academy and have experience working along side NDA
private clients to deliver residential design schemes across the UK. I
enjoy working as part of a team and play an important, active role in
team meetings. Although I do not have direct experience within the
field, I believe that I will learn and adapt fast, providing valuable
skills to a diverse design team.
I can confidently communicate my designs from concept stage to final
project completion and have looked to continue this skill set outside
of my Tutor job by entering numerous design competitions, including the
Printworks showcase (London) in which I was recently shortlisted. A
selection of my work was published in 2009 when the author Martin
Dawber used my illustrations in the “The Big Book of Contemporary
Illustration”. The book explored worldwide illustrations from
architectural visualisations to textile designs. These Illustrations
were also exhibited for the New Designers exhibition in London during
my graduation year in 2008.
As an admirer of a broad range of creative disciplines, I also have
experience working part time as a photographer, producing creative
portrait photography for professional portfolios. This has been
invaluable to me, as it has enhanced, not only my skill base, but also
my understanding of light and composition.
