About me

I am writing to apply for the current vacancy you have advertised, of Video Editor/Production Assistant.

I feel that I would make a valuable contribution to your team as I have many skills to offer; I am fluent with the use of Final Cut Pro, Logic Studio and Apple Motion, as well as having strong skills within software such as Microsoft Office.

I am ready and willing to learn any new skills that may be required.

I am currently working on an internship with Workhouse Creative Marketing, where my role includes production of video from concept through to editing. I have worked on projects from advertising campaigns, to short documentaries.

I work with clients and other crew members on a regular basis, and respect the importance of being able to work well in a team.

I studied a BTEC Diploma in Music Production, which was followed by a BA (Hons) in Moving Image. I feel that the combination of these two subjects has provided me with an extensive knowledge of the media industry, particularly when using equipment.

I gained a high 2:1 during my degree, and believe that my organisational and time- keeping skills were a large part in my achievement of this grade. It is clear to me from experience that organisation is an incredibly important factor within video production, particularly when other members of staff are reliant on you.

I am a responsible and mature enough person to offer these skills to my highest ability.

I have a large catalogue of work experience within both of these areas.

I spent two years working alongside a Sound Technician in a recording studio, where I learned the technical side of recording, as well as how to set up, repair and build equipment. I have also created two music videos through freelance work that have been used by a record label, amongst much more.

Additional to this, I have completed many work placements within music and video, which are detailed further within my résumé.

I am an extremely trustworthy person who works well in a team, and is punctual and committed.

I would look forward to developing my skills even further through taking a step into the media industry, and I am ready for any challenge.
