About me

Having graduated from University with a Graphic Design degree, Leyya honed her professional skills firstly working as a Project Manager before moving into the role of Producer at a London based creative agency.

In 2016, frustrated by the lack of intersectionality in the diversity conversation Leyya setup The Other Box, an award-winning company with Roshni Goyate, educating and empowering people to work and 
live more inclusively. We pride ourselves on being intersectional in our celebration and support of people of colour, and people from other underrepresented backgrounds. Today our team works strategically with global companies on D&I through training and consultancy, with brands on partnerships, campaigns and customised strategies. The Other Box also supports a global community of over 3,500 creatives, connecting them to opportunities across different industries.

Since co-founding The Other Box, Leyya has received multiple awards and accolades. Some of which included being a WACL Future Leader, Forbes 100 Women Founders and Ad age 'Women to watch in Europe'. She also sits on the BIMA Creative Council and is a member of the Fawcett Society's Race Disparity Unit exploring pay and progression for women of colour.

Leyya is a passionate mentor to women from working-class backgrounds, empowering them to articulate their dreams and achieve their goals. She is currently advancing her knowledge studying with the Quest Institute and Regent's College on Cognitive Hypnotherapy and Neuro-linguistic Programming to attain her diploma in 2021.
