Dear Sir/Madam

I am very excited about the role of Junior Graphic Designer for Socks World International.

In 2005 I attained a degree in Fashion Studies which prepared me for both the design and organisational elements of fashion. This inspired me to aim to be part of an innovative company in which I am able to develop and help build a strong and exciting brand.

As a part of the Mother Care team at Crystal Martin I worked closely with the designers researching trends and then creating mood boards and style sheets within Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I then went onto design childrenswear using licensed characters. From here I have extended my work experience to male and female ranges in my current role at Lockwood Studios. I develop both shapes and prints for garments appropriate to the brand identity using global trend information. Working with the advertising team I create packaging materials specific to brand identity. As a brand guardian I oversee ranges from conception to creation. With my ability to work well across a range of design disciplines I feel I would be a great asset to Socks world International. I work with a revision controlled database system which allows me to organise and manage files in an appropriate manor.

Prior to this, whilst at Freedom Arts, I sourced and managed resources and kept records of samples for traceability. When managing projects I worked to specific budget requirements and in conjunction with other team members to ensure garments where made to specification and to time constraints.

My good working knowledge of construction, printing and embellishment techniques are transferable to a commercial retail environment. Within my current and previous roles I have prepared and presented mood and style boards to management and potential contractors.

I feel that I have collated a wealth of knowledge and experience relevant to the advertised position. I have developed a range of organisational and technical skills, including those relating to construction and C.A.D. In addition to this I am able to think creatively outside of the box and maintain awareness of forthcoming trends.

I am keen to pursue a career within Sock World International and feel I can bring a great deal of creative flair to the position. I hope to be a great addition to your team with my confident, happy character.
