About me
Im a 22 year old graphic student. I started my graphics from a young age making forms and invites for anything and everything. I knew art was a big part of my life when i realised it was only myself out of my friends who would get excited if a book had die cut sections or a crazy new stock inserted into different pages. I went from trying to paint pretty pictures at school to hard design at college, moving onto university in Leeds. Realising my heart and creativity really was drawn from those around me and the people i was with i returned to Hull to finish my degree. Currently finishing up the second year and looking forward to the future.
However i have long been hoping to start work i would love to be able to join a studio where my skills could already be used. I believe on the job experience would benefit me even more than institutional studies. I love hard work. I love workspaces and i love deadlines. I feel like some of my skill and ambition for design is held back whilst at uni where they pray for huge explorations in fields which don't necessarily fit the design brief but "art for art's sake".
Graphic Design to me is communicating a message through design. ( Not perhaps being asked to throw paint across the room and photograph it for the sake of a standard mail shot )
Perhaps my views aren't correct in some senses but i want hard work where my skills and computing know how gets put to the test and i leave feeling like we have achieved something.

Computer Skills, Photoshop / CS5 - CS6, Illustrator / CS5 - CS6, InDesign / CS5, After Effects (learning) / CS5 , Studio Skills, Define, Research, Ideation, Prototyping, Refining, Implementing, Learning, I believe my ability to present and explain work and ideas is one of my most valuble skills i own i love being able to stand infront of people and watch as they begin to see the design process unfold and see the same vision as we have is priceless.
Sector Experience
Fred, Working for free is always a great way to see how a studio is run. The hectic nature of deadlines and work checkups dominated this workplace a wall dedicated to post it notes and deadline slips was scary aswel as helpful. Clients coming in looking almost scared of the creative minds and leaving wondering why comic sans wasnt the right choice for thier newly made brouchers also stick in my memory hugely. Summing up my help i worked for a week and they allowed me to over look projects and doddle around the office seeing what people where doing... They also intrusted me with the exporting and double checking the emailed pdf files where correct and attached correctly.
