To whom it may concern,

I have recently completed a degree in Motion Graphics and am seeking a permanent career as a Creative Designer in advertising or branding. I therefore feel like I am an excellent candidate for your vacancy.

I specialise in creating innovative, engaging concepts and crafting winning propositions.I enjoy conceptualising brilliant ideas and making them tangible to the viewer. In short, I love communicating strong concepts. I am thorough in dissecting a brief and am committed to following it through right to the very end. I believe that aesthetic design has the perfect balance between image and meaning. My skill lies in creating this perfect balance.

You will see from my CV that I have recently won a Promax BDA silver award for my creative advert campaign for the charity TAG. Promax BDA rewards design and marketing work in the advertising and promotions business. For this competition I was up against thousands of students as well as professionals in the UK.

My previous exposure to advertising and branding has helped to develop my current skills.

During summer 2011 I was an intern at Ogilvy and Mather. The briefs at Ogilvy taught me the skill of determination and commitment. Sometimes it meant staying and working longer hours until the brief was solved. This was all part and parcel of this career field. Being able to go through a brief and then pitch it to a creative head exposed me to the pressures of advertising and any creative industry. My solution to a BP Invigorate brief was so successful that Head Creative Will Awdry took it with him to Chicago and pitched my idea. These exercises developed my personal communication skills. Now I am very confident in giving a presentation and proposing an idea.

During the Easter 2012 I had a 3-week work experience placement at the television branding agency Red Bee. This was an amazing experience and reestablished my ever-growing love for creating excellent brand identities. Although I had never done television branding before, I was able to quickly come to terms with how everything worked. I worked in a big design team and was given the opportunity to propose ideas as well execute them.

I am competent in using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and In-Design, After Effects and Final Cut Pro.
