About me
My name is Lee Protheroe I am a 26-year-old graduate, I have
complete a degree in Graphic Design at Lowestoft College, and attained
a 2.2 in this subject I have been studying. Throughout my degree I have
been introduced to many different areas of design. I have tried to
incorporate and experiment with these, which is visible in my work; the
areas that interest me the most are: typography, packaging and magazine
layouts. During the second year of my degree I had the privilege of a
one-week work experience at Signwaves in Great Yarmouth. I was working
within the design department, this gave me a real insight into what
working in a design company is like and the expectations of its
employees and their work. My degree opened up the opportunities I
needed to work in close proximity with other designers, talking openly
about my work in a formal and an informal setting. I had to regularly
give presentations and talks about my design work and my written
work.
Since graduating I have been working for a small internet sales
company, producing artwork for company promotions and new product
ventures. Selling point of sale was a big part of the company so most
of my time was devoted to producing artwork for customers. Producing
anything from a simple poster or swing sign to large roller banners and
pop-up display stands. I have also gained experience in developing
websites, designing them ready to be built. Checking and approving
artwork was also a large part of the postion and making sure all work
was suitible to go out to the customer. I also gained great telephone
skills and one to one communication with customers.
All the elements have contributed to making me a great team member
or leader, as a result I consider myself to be an asset to any
company.
