About me
Having worked in the field as a graphic designer since finishing college, I have gained a great deal of knowledge and experience in my career, which has seen many changes and developments with technological advances over my years of working as a graphic artist.
As shown in my work history my skills have developed in many different roles which include work in the education sector and more recently as a graphic artist for a computer game publisher. These roles have provided me we with a high level of skills and knowledge giving me the ability to produce work and materials of a n extremely high standard, that has always met with high regard and approval in all of my roles.
I pride myself on the quality of my work and have a drive and passion to produce the best in my field, always giving a 100% to the piece of work that is requested from me.
My skills within the field have developed and I am fully experienced in using a wide range of design software QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Freehand, Illustrator etc, examples of my work using these packages can be seen within my portfolio.
I use my own experiences and ideas to develop pieces of work from the starting idea through to the finished product; this will also involve using ideas from within the team to generate a design concept for development. I am a good team member and willing to take on board ideas and advice from others in order to produce a product of the required standard and quality.
I would also look to others within the team for their comments and thoughts on the work I am producing as it develops.
I feel I have good people skills and have the ability to communicate with people at all levels. I have good presentation skills and the ability to deal with people in a caring and understanding manner so that the ideas and objectives of the individuals can be developed from their initial idea, through to the final design of the desired piece of material.
My work experiences have given me the ability to work under pressure in order to meet tight deadlines and work within timescales. I have the ability to manage my time in order to produce the work on time; my experiences working within the Games industry often meant that deadlines were moved and cut short and my work has taken me through the night in order to meet these.
In my spare time I am involved in music and play in a semi-professional band and present a weekly radio programme on BBC Radio Leeds every Sunday evening, I also use my graphic skills to design cd covers for projects released on our own small independent label and most Saturday afternoons I can be found at Elland Road being a Leeds United season ticket holder.
