About me

Hello, I'm Leanne. I'm a designer looking for a full time position within the creative industry; at this point in time I'm open to any type of position, whether you require a hands-on creative or need someone who can take a back seat to manage projects and let other people shine. I'm equally comfortable in both roles and I'm more than happy to lead, be led, and work as part of a team or by myself. I'm very confident in my abilities and my friendly, easy going demeanour means I'm very easy to work with.

Since I finished my degree in 2009 I have amassed a decent amount of experience working in both design and management roles. As a graphic designer I've worked for AMX, producing templates in Photoshop for their digital signage projects (Animated posters to go in shops or train stations). I've worked as a designer and photographic retoucher/restorer in Snappy Snaps where I created layouts for calendars, posters and business cards, digitally repaired heavily damaged photos and edited studio portraits to a high professional standard. In between my times in employment I've kept myself engaged in the creative industry by using my illustration skills to earn money, win projects and network with my contemporaries. This separate life as a freelancer has drastically enhanced my skills in time and project management which has helped me to keep up momentum on both long and short projects.

I'm highly skilled in Adobe Photoshop CS4 with some experience in CS5 and 9 years experience with Photoshop in total. I also have a good amount of experience with Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks and Dreamweaver too. I have taught myself how to model and texture using 3DS Max and I'm currently learning Maya. In addition I'm equally proficient with both PCs and Macs.

My degree in Illustration has given me a strong foundation of knowledge in typography, layout, and composition. Furthermore, I now have the confidence to push my limits and be more experimental with my choice of materials in the beginning stages of a project. This has come from my training in draftsmanship, digital painting, photomanipulation, printmaking, glasswork, 3D, book binding and website design.

My time in employment and working for clients independently has greatly increased my productivity, professionalism and has aided my pro-active approach to life.
