About me

My name is Laurence Imbert, I am a Theater Designer, Interior Designer and Scenic Artsit. As you will see from my CV, I earned a Bachelor's degree in Interior Architecture from the Saint Luc Institute in Brussels, Belgium, finishing first in my class in 1996. I then earned a Master's degree in Set Design in the United States of America, where I graduated from Boston University in 1999.

Over the past 5 years I have worked as a freelance Set Designer for numerous theatres in New York, Florida and now in the United Kingdom. In addition to designing, I have assisted various designers with Broadway plays and musicals as well as opera. In this work I was responsible for drafting, doing research and making models.

Recently, I have worked as a Interior Designer in an Architectural firm in London.

I also became proficient in painting treatments like faux-finishes and patinas. I often use AutoCAD in my work as a Scenic Designer and through studies in New York I have become quite adept with the program. I speak French and English fluently and I am proficient in Spanish.

During my career, I was able to solve challenges in every aspect of design using my creativity, technical knowledge, reliability, and communication skills. With my proven ability in Set Design, which complements my training and recent experience as an Interior Architect, I feel that I would make a contribution to any company.
