About me

Interior and graphic design are areas of interest for me. I find the idea of transferring a specific brand identity into a physical form an exciting one. I get pleasure from the process of developing a strong concept (or initial idea) in to a scheme which is practically viable and significant in regards to a clients brief. Having recently completed my degree in Interior Design with First Class Honours, I feel that I have the potential, the proven skills and capability to be an asset to your practice. The experiences I have gained throughout my degree, although mainly conceptual (in terms of project work) have created transferrable skills which can be successfully implemented within a professional environment. Design orientated exercises have allowed me to develop a comprehensive knowledge of design software such as Auto Cad, Vectorworks, Photoshop and 3D Studio Max to name but a few. These projects allow for the development of a set brief to progress into a feasible and workable solution. My ability to research is a notable quality which I feel contributed to the successful conclusion of every project brief I was given. Understanding the client or assignment, the intentions of the project, and any inherent trends or precedents are all major factors which I feel are integral to ensure a successful outcome.Through numerous presentations, I have developed a confidence for communicating and justifying design ideas. This is reflected in, not only a verbal accompaniment, but my visual and graphical communication skills. Presentation quality drops, posters and mood boards are an area of competence within my ability. I have gained leadership experience by being awarded the role as Project Co-ordinator for the organisation of my university's exhibition at New Designers. This involved the development of a graduate brochure, creating fundraising events, finding sponsors, liaising with exhibition organisers, and overall management of the student committee. My time at university has allowed me to experience both individual and group projects. Having completed a dissertation project, I worked singlehandedly, enabling the use of my initiative and excellent time management capabilities to shine. On the other hand, numerous group projects and peer assessment have heightened my ability to work as part of a team. Working within a design studio is something that I relish, I enjoy being surrounded by other creative individuals and I feel that this atmosphere encourages my own creativity.
