About me

I am a strong, smiley designer who excels in my use of the Adobe Creative Suite in particular Illustrator, Photoshop and In-design. I am professional and clean in my approach to my design work, this coupled with my passion for illustration, surface pattern design and love of colour, I feel makes me a strong candidate. I have through my degree course designed and printed a variety of wall art for a variety of clients, ranging from galleries to bars and coffee shops, and now have a range of my wallpapers that will be available on the open market from febuary, this experience in particular I feel that I have learnt a lot about the surface pattern design industry over and above the experiences I gain from attending Leeds College of Art and Design.

Recently I was chosen to exhibit at one of the most prestigious design shows in Europe 'New Designers' where I was exposed to a saturation of cutting edge design, and have been selected as one of the final 10 in the country by the Wallpaper History Society to exhibit my designs at the Zandra Rhodes Gallery. Through experience of working within customer driven environments I have learnt to find a balance between being professional and personable, and find that I am very confident when talking to a range of clientele and team members. I relish a challenge, and really enjoy the excitement of working within a fast paced professional environment.

Skills

I am a strong bubbly designer who excels in my use of the Adobe Creative Suite in particular Illustrator, Photoshop and In-design. I enjoy the work place, and always approach tasks with a logical and flexible approach exploring all outcomes to fit the brief. My work to date has evolved around the hand drawn and I feel as though I have developed a wide range of drawing skills which I now incorporate into my personal digital design work. , I am professional, efficient and clean in my approach to my design work, and I have had experience when working with a range of mediums and methods, ranging from screen printing, CMYK printing, digital (in a professional repo-graphics suite), lino, and mono printing; when designing I am aware of the works sense of colour, composition and balance and feel this is an area of design that comes naturally to my eye.

Sector Experience

Freelance Print Designer at The Print Room (sister company to The Art File) (2012), I have designed a collection of limited edition prints to be released in February at ‘Springfair’ (2013), Assistant Designer Internship at The New Silk Road (working under the head buyer for Channel), A fantastic experience working to an incredibly high standard, in central London. I was given a lot of responsibility, from liaising with suppliers and organising orders to designing placement and repeat prints and creating potential mood boards. , Retail Assistant at Sophie Allport (2012), I work with team Sophie Allport at the majority of their trade shows where I dress the stand, and run the show as part of a small team. I am given the responsibility of stock checking, placing orders, and making sure that all the products look at there best throughout the duration of the show, as well as serving the customers.
