About me
To Whom It May Concern,
I am currently an Wholesale Account Manager at Robert Harrison Associates, a fashion agency managing key accounts for women's clothing and accessory brands including White Stuff and Zatchels. However, I am looking to extend my skills further within the fashion industry, especially progressing into a Copywriting role.
I graduated from Lancaster University in 2011 with a 2:1 degree in English Literature. This has strengthened my written and verbal communications skills, and given me a strong grounding which I apply to all my work. In my spare time I develop this experience through writing a fashion blog : . This has also encouraged me to develop my IT skills and I am very confident in using basic html, Photoshop and all social media platforms.
The skills I have developed through my current role are extremely transferable and will help me undertake the role of Digital Copywriter. These skills include relationship management with existing and new clients and buyers, and I have recently developed a relationship with both accessory buyers at Hamley's and John Lewis, pitching the accounts I represent to their buying teams. I also undertake Showroom management and administration, ensuring all my brands samples are displayed to showcase them fully and to grow their UK database, whilst coordinating samples and merchandising the product.
My role is very forward facing and supports to the needs of our clients and buyers, from advising them on current fashion styles, to raising their order and overseeing the processes through from invoicing to delivery. In this role I have immeasurably developed my interpersonal communication skills, being able to comfortably deal with any scenario that may arise, from resolving account queries to liaising with suppliers. Coupled with my confident and friendly manner, these are skills that I feel will be very beneficial in undertaking this job.
In previous roles, I have developed my editorial and content writing skills, especially as head writer for The Manchester Fashion Network. In this role I researched and produced web content for their site, including interview profiles of bloggers, community interest features and editing photography through Photoshop. This helped me to develop my communication skills, especially with businesses and individuals within the fashion network. Previously, I have undertaken a number or assistant positions and an internship working in a well-established fashion PR agency. The experience I gained from this, such as; writing press releases, building product mailers, time-management and media liaison with journalists has been an immensely useful foundation and has enabled me successfully develop in subsequent roles.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my application, I really hope you find my skills and experience interesting, and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Yours Faithfully,
Lauren Ai
