About me

Job Ref: FOR-JA-A

I am writing in response to the Junior Trend Forecasting Assistant, as advertised on the Creativepool.co.uk website.

Having 2 years of industry experience in fashion production, publication, and styling assistance since graduating from my Bachelor in Design (Fashion), I am seeking to further my skills in the fashion and creative industry. As you can see on my CV, I am working here in London as Fashion Assistant for the Men's fashion, conceptual art and technology magazine, Matter, before which I worked for Ann-Sofie Back in Stockholm as Design/Production Assistant for a three month internship. Given this, I believe my skills lie in the following areas:

- Styling and visual presentation,

- Fashion production and communications,

- Ability to communicate efficiently, professionally and graciously.

- Editorial research and development,

At Matter I am involved with many aspects of assembling the publication, from research, editorial and imagery, liaising with press offices for garment and product requests, and working as a stylist's assistant in the lead up to and process of shooting, as well as general administration roles in the running of a creative office. This role has given me the opportunity to further my technical and communication skills in the context of a fashion publication. Furthermore, I am also an online contributor for the Paris-based fashion publication/journal Vestoj, as well as assisting with distribution.

The fashion industry is at an exciting time; in a post-internet landscape it seems to have reached a point where it has come into its own. Web interfaces are a platform we interact with everyday from the creative to the mundane. As a result, technology, fashion and art are converging in the digital space in a very exciting way, and we are moving in a new and clearer direction, creatively and in terms of consumer behaviour.

I believe I would be an asset to this role, sharing an innovative and thoughtful approach to fashion forward content for trend forecasting, I am also a logical and efficient worker with a high level of attention to detail. At Ann-Sofie Back and at Matter I have worked closely with the designer/art director, which, as is the nature of a small team, has allowed me to be more involved in the creative process of both studios. Working at Matter often required quick and efficient thinking and initiative particularly at busy times for example during fashion shooting. Furthermore, my experience of working in small studios and organisations has led me to be flexible and proactive as a worker - easily moving between visual communications, fashion research, writing and administrative roles, this, I believe has given me the skills to approach a role in a larger company.

I am also proficient in Adobe and Microsoft programs including InDesign and PhotoShop.

I look forward to hearing from you, very much!
