About me

I am a highly creatively driven designer who thrives on challenges and possibilities.

I believe that my strengths lie in quickly responding to initial briefs with strong and interesting concepts and then able to develop these ideas to produce realistic, creative schemes, which will fulfil the client's brief -with a little extra. I have an instant visualising ability and am definitely an ideas person, which is what I enjoy doing the most. Due to the Degree course I did I am confident in taking a brief and taking it through concept and development through to the technical outcome of the design.

At the moment I am working as an Interior Designer/ photo Stylist within a photographic studio creating Room Sets and styling individual furniture items but my heart definitely lies behind a drawing board, going on site and working with clients. I am hoping to be able to continue to create show apartments or being able to move into hotel or high end residential sector to work on the public spaces within. I would love to move into the Exhibition and Retail sectors in which I am degree qualified.

I will happily work on projects individually but I can also make a strong member of a Design Team. I suppose I am waiting for someone to give me a chance to prove my value in commercial design to show what I am capable of.

For jobs outside West Yorkshire an increase in salary offers would be neccessary to accomodate living costs.

The images below are photographs taken of a Show Apartment which I was Commissioned to design in Huddersfield's Town Centre. My job was to create the show apartment form concept to completion (including the trade work) on a budget of £1500. The space before was magnolia walled, laminate floored and housed a budget kitchen and bathroom suite. The purpose of the Apartment was to illustrate to potential renters how they can live and work simultaneously, comfortably and productively within this small single space. I believe the apartment was successful and the number of spaces rented within the 21 Apartment complex increased as a result of the changes.
