Director of a 28-minute pre-recorded news/current affairs programme; experienced live multi-camera and on-site director - over 400 episodes -, directing segments for a light entertainment show, too. Leader of gallery and studio crew.

Skills in post-production include editing in Adobe Premiere Pro, colour grading and audio correction. Using Adobe Media Encoder I make the footage available for various media formats to be later released on air and online. With a wide knowledge of camera and sound kit, I organise on-site filming with various filming equipment including Steadicam and sound recorders/sound mixers.

I choose freelancers to fill in temporary roles in the crew and take responsibility in budgeting filming on various locations and creative projects.

Director: Going Underground, RT International

London, May 2016 - Present

Responsibility for all aspects of the design and timely delivery of the programme. It is a UK current affairs show broadcasted 3 episodes weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays on RT International.

Main duties include direct all interviews and continuity elements/pickups; planning filming for the day ahead; script editing, camera blocking; overseeing gallery and studio operation - preparation of camera, lighting, sound and autocue operators; liaising with producers; ensuring all footage is available for edit in the internal media system - Dalet - I am also familiar with iNEWS; organising crew for outdoor filming.

Creative duties involve requesting topic specific graphics from a team of graphic designers and specify the style we want them in on screens either in a loop video form or Viz animation. All graphic elements are revised at the end of a season and decisions are made by the editor and the director over the outlook the programme. The show also undergoes a re-branding every year specified by the director.

I direct music performances on Going Underground stage. The visual elements of the music video, graphics and video loops are also created autonomously by me.

Interview Producer of a Documentary:

Life after "Operation Whirlwind"

London, 2018

Researched and produced stories and interviewees for the documentary about 1956 dissidents to the town of Southend-On-Sea, UK. Collected historic materials and background facts of European historical events in the 1950s and 1960s. Made phone calls and kept in touch via email with the relevant institutions and archives, and finally organized the interviews for filming, where I was the interviewer. After filming, I edited the rough cut with the director and made editorial decisions based on the material.

London, June 2015 - June 2017

Live directing and vision mixing a weekly, 26-minute-long current affairs programme broadcasted in Arabic language on RT Arabic at 17.00 GMT. Main duties include leading the technical crew and liaise with the director and producer at the head office in Moscow prior to the programme; live playout of float videos; plan and carry out creative changes according to stylistic requirements.

Live News Vision Mixer, RT UK

London, October 2013 - August 2017

Using a Sony MVS 6530 (ICP 6530) production switcher, vision mixing daily news bulletins for RT UK, Monday-Friday.

Duties include going through the running order with the news director, preparation of the VM desk for live interviews with specific visual elements, transitions, macros and e-mems, loops and frame memory/clip store; live vision mix the bulletin following the director's instructions; preempting the next element in the event of editorial change in the running order; rolling VTs and taking over temporarily the director's role when immediate editorial changes were in progress.

Television Gallery and Studio Supervisor at Press TV, London, UK

Reporting to the studio director, I carried out technical and safety checks on the studio floor and gallery equipment. I was responsible for the preparations for airing live and pre-recorded programmes after production meetings.
