Hello, nice to meet you!
My name is Laia Puig. I am 24 years old and I am a graphic designer who was born and raised in Barcelona.
I hold a degree in Advertising and Public Relations, finished in 2013 at Escola Superior de Relacions Públiques (Universitat de Barcelona). When I was in my 4th grade I started an internship in a little advertising agency called Mosaiking Comunicació, where I discovered what I like the most: graphic design. It was back then when I decided to study a postgraduate in Graphic Design Applied to Communication at Elisava Escola Superior de Disseny i Enginyeria in Barcelona. There I learned how to develop a 360º branding project involving identity, responsive web, packaging, editorial, advertising and signage. Since then, I have worked for a wide range of clients: entrepreneurs, laboratories, politic parties, stores, public transport companies, and cultural associations, among others.
My main project as a freelancer graphic designer and illustrator set up last year when I started working for an organic product store from Barcelona, creating corporative materials and monthly newsletters. I have recently also worked for little brands and illustration personal commissions.
I consider my strength is the blend of my flair for design and my advertising and PR background since this makes me always work with a commercial vision. I am open to learn any skills needed: for me, any good professional should constantly keep reinventing and updating himself. I consider I have a good eye for detail and I accept criticism constructively. My modest experience as a designer has taught me how to listen and adapt my work to the client's necessities.
I feel confident with logotype design, web design, stationary, packaging, editorial, signage, icon, illustration, pattern design, typography, color theory, retouching and lettering. Regarding technical skills, I master Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, as well as Wordpress, Mailchimp and basic level of HTML5 and CSS3.
