About me
Some information about me:
- I have a background in mechanical and aeronautical engineering. I worked for Airbus in the UK for over five years, mainly working with CAD on new aircraft and research projects.
- In search of a new direction I enrolled on the Innovation Design Engineering (IDE) combined MA/ MSc run by the Royal College of Art and Imperial here in London. It was immensely challenging and very good for me, exposing me to opportunities to learn new skills (especially in the areas of electronics and programming). I completed that in mid-2011.
- I then worked for a startup called Loowatt (*) which is concerned with turning waste streams into energy and fertiliser, mainly for developing countries. It has backing from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. I spent all of September 2012 in the capital of Madagascar helping to set up the project's pilot scheme. I designed and built a waterless toilet which is not very glamourous, but the whole experience was challenging, exciting and I really got to see a project from concept through to implementation.
- I really enjoy working with Solidworks, but also with my hands, so am interested in the process of getting from one to the other. I feel I would be able to bring many skills to any company and also learn a lot from the multi disciplinary team you no doubt already have.
