About me

A native of Belgium with roots in France and fluent in Dutch, French, German and English, Kristof Van Grysperre has spent more than two decades working professionally in the music industry. Currently he is the artistic director and conductor for Angels Vocal Art founded in Pasadena, California. In this position, Kristof Van Grysperre provides leadership directing the annual Opera Intensive and Festival as well as coordinating the educational programs. He also conducts all rehearsals and performances with orchestra.

During his time with Angels Vocal Art until early 2018, Kristof Van Grysperre also served as resident conductor at Long Beach Opera. At the Long Beach-based opera house, he conducted rehearsals and performances as well as dealt with auditioning singers, budgeting the orchestra, and licensing works. While there, he conducted critically acclaimed productions of "Frida" and "The Counsel" in 2017 as well as the world premiere of "Fallujah" in 2016.

Kristof Van Grysperre earned a concert diploma in piano and chamber music from the Royal Music Conservatories of Ghent and Liège. As a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright grant, he went on to obtain his master's degree in orchestral conducting from the University of Southern California. He furthered his education at the same university and earned his doctoral degree in keyboard collaborative arts.
