About me

I've been familiar with the design world for quite a while, having two family members that own companies, this simply made me understand the business.

In year 10 I had to complete a 2 week work experience luckily my uncle invited me down to his company that was Carlson BBM Digital, I loved it here because of the atmosphere and the type of work we were doing was just about ideas and being creative!

Even though this was a great experience, I had my goals set somewhere else, at the time I was at Bristol Rovers Academy and I was solely focused on football, after leaving school I attended Filton college doing BTEC IT National Diploma with not much purpose just knowing that I was good on computers!

After a year of this course I was offered a scholarship to play football for City Academy which had great opportunities in a football career, this was a great footballing year for me as at the end of this I was scouted and picked up by Bristol Rovers yet again, But this time it was the first team which would give me the opportunity to work on getting a professional contract!

After a 3 month spell at the age of 19 with Bristol Rovers, I was not offered a full time contract, despite being noticed by a variety of teams such as Cardiff City, Leicster City and Barnet I hadn't secured a full time position, returning to Bristol and playing Semi-professional as I currently do, I was gave the opportunity to become a personal trainer by Bristol Rovers, I completed the 12 week course and was then offered a job at Fitness First, working here didn't satisfy me.

I decided that I would get in contact with a design firm, going by the name of Octane Social Fuel, I was luckily enough to be able to work here and help out around the studio, such as small design jobs, taking out the bins and making tea! In return they would help me gain some experience and put together a portfolio to then get myself onto the BA (HONS) degree course.

I worked here for roughly a year, whilst playing semi-professional football, which I received my only wage from, I wasn't paid for my time here but it was an investment in to my career, even though working a full time job for around a year with no wage I can honestly say I enjoyed 95% of my time in the office! (Taking out the rubbish was disgusting!)

My reason behind highlighting this story was after playing football on a full time basis, which would usually consist of 10am-1pm days, I really struggled to find a career that I could have that would keep a smile on my face!

Luckily for me this was the career path does that! Now completing my BA (Hons) Degree I'm looking forward to beginning my career path with the plus side of a large amount of studio experience.
