A creative thinker, I am an experienced graphic designer for print and digital currently available for full time, freelance or contractual employment. I offer significant experience in communication design and branding across all media and am proficient in a broad skills set that primarily lies in Adobe technologies, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver etc. (CS6) with a strong knowledge of print process & finishing.

I use most major social media platforms. I am competent in preparing artwork to current universal web and pre-press standards (with sound knowledge of finishing techniques) and I am proficient in the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. I am articulate with great written and verbal communication skills.

Until recently I was also a part-time lecturer at The University of Derby teaching Web Design and Visual Practice where I taught a basic course in web design which introduces the students to XHTML, CSS, Usability, Design principles and basic Flash animation.

Design work:, After finishing at Derby University I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to rent office, space from the university and together with a friend we founded our own company. We have run, DE1 Design successfully for 4 years. In this time we have built up a respectful client base across, many industry sectors. As well as day-to-day operation of running the business (quotations, invoices,, proposals, client meetings) I am responsible for designing and developing websites, logotypes and, general graphic design/artworking for print and web as well as social media, marketing and branding, strategies. I have experience in creating media forms such as graphics for HTML websites/emails (inc., programming), newspaper/magazine adverts, brochures, packaging, promotional material, greetings, cards, exhibition stands etc., Work includes various projects for Universtity of Derby, TATA, NHS, Xpelair, ProShift, Lee Stafford, Hair, Sasse Group DE, British International Spa Association, National Outdoor Events Association., Teaching:, I taught 2 modules at degree level throughout the academic year - Web Design with Visual Practice and Human Computer Interface design. The University had approached me for the role after hearing of my career path post graduation. The course outlines roughly consist of: History of The Internet, HTML and XHTML, CSS, Design Principles, Usability and Flash animation. By bringing the course material and learning schedule up to date I was responsible for planning the assessed outcomes and formally marking the work in preparation for external moderation.
