Dear Sir/Madam,
I am applying for the internship opportunity at your office in London starting in October of this year. I am writing to you as I understand that your company does have the appropriate vacancy available. I have a strong interest in the areas of digital marketing and advertising, which I understand are predominantly carried out during the course of this employment opportunity. As I live in Greater London, travel and accommodation would not be a problem for me.
I first became interested in digital marketing during my studies at University of Edinburgh. While I was taking up several marketing related courses, the areas of online advertising and viral marketing became special interests of mine. Since then, a discussion with my careers advisor has confirmed my decision to aim for a career in this field. I achieved Upper second degree Honours Diploma at University of Edinburgh and a Postgraduate Masters Diploma from Imperial College London in August 2012. While at University, I have also been able to utilise my skills in working with people through a variety of extra-curricular activities.
Through my postgraduate degree course in Strategic Marketing at Imperial College London, I have been able to further develop my knowledge about digital marketing techniques and concepts, whilst improving my skills in such areas as computing, presentations and teamwork. I have gained some experience in marketing of new technologies and launching of online platforms during my placements at Elkjop Norway and Flubit Limited, and willing to continue to develop my skills in such established and innovative company as yours. My work at an Ocean Trawlers Europe office was valuable in providing me with working experience in a global company and experience in operating in Russian, Chinese and British markets.
In addition to my work experience in marketing industry and academic achievements, I possess a wide range of additional skills, that can be essential in this employment opportunity and make me an ideal candidate for this position. I can fluently speak three European languages (Russian, English and Norwegian), which can be important while working in such international and multicultural company. I have exceptional presentation skills and experience with pitching of new products to potential customers. Finally, I am a computer enthusiast with experience in both PC and Mac platforms and such programs as SPSS, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and some basic knowledge in HTML and CMS.
