Dear Sir/Madam I am writing to you in regards to the role you are seeking for. I am a graduate in Media Studies from De Montfort University and I would be delighted to be applying for this job position as a career in creativity is what I am working towards.

During my time at University, I obtained a lot of skills and academic knowledge on the art of implementing strategies into campaigns by studying both, Advertising and Public Relations modules. This was done by conducting research online using Mintel and Alexa as well as looking at previous advertising campaigns. I have a greater understanding of global uses of public relations as I studied the country India for my assignment to identify the similarities as well as differences, of businesses using communication strategies on a local scale to a national scale.

Throughout the years at University, I have had the chance to use different software for video editing and used Adobe Photoshop extensively. It allowed my ability to enhance the way I communicate key messages across in campaigns by means of using other tools. I had to create an advertising campaign for Oxfam based on a brief constructed by AD&D with a group, I came up with the idea of a water bottle ‘Ox2O', and to create a campaign to raise wider awareness through social media tools (i.e. Facebook, Twitter and YouTube) for people to interact with the product at the London 2012 Olympics. This showcased my creativity by coming up with a name for a product as well as implementing strategies to communicate messages at a low cost.

In addition to communicating effectively with contacts, I have started to research about the uses of social media tools (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) and have used my blog to demonstrate my findings. I have had a great response towards my blog posts and built contacts within the public relations industry on Twitter.

As you can see from my CV which I have enclosed, I believe that my knowledge and experiences in both advertising and public relations, coupled with my interpersonal skills make me a suitable candidate for this position. I am diligent and passionate about my work. I will be a valuable asset to your company and use this opportunity to grow, further developing my marketing skill set.
