About me
Recently graduated from the University of Wolverhampton with a First Class BA Hons in Fashion and Textiles, specializing in surface print and pattern for fashion and embroidery. My signature design style is very organic and floral focused, heavily inspired by nature that hints towards a couture fashion market. I have developed a style that embodies a romantic and classic feel, prioritizing timeless design and keepsake memorabilia to spark joy and personal connection. There is a strong sense of the bespoke and hand rendered charm in all aspects of the artwork I produce. However, I love to exercise and stretch my design application by adopting different styles and themes, and I am always excited by new projects and design briefs.
As well as my passion for beautiful drawing and painting, a love for traditional craft and specialist embellishment makes it's way through my creative work; applications such a stitching, couture embroidery, crochet and other textile techniques. It is important that my work communicates a sense of time well spent, utilizing traditional crafts to create pieces that stand the test of time.
I have established a handmade business called Broderie Bloom straight after graduating for my design studies to express my creative vision and ambition. Within this sole business I paint, design, make and produce hand embroidery hoop art and do-it-yourself patterns and instructions. It's a passion of mine to share bespoke and beautiful design, with the addition to encourage people to engage with hand making. Celebrating creativity and self efficiency, I want my work to contribute to the hand making community and also to work against the fast consumerism lifestyle. Slowing down the pace of daily life through relaxing hand embroidery, being considerate and creative.
