About me

Hello,

I'm Kate! Copy/content creator and Digital Marketer. I'm a Kiwi who emigrated to the UK for lurrvvee in 2018 and since then I've made my bed, I'm on my way to UK citizenship, and I've produced my greatest achievements in life so far: three tiny people with big attitudes, wide vocabularies, and crisp new British passports. I've also wiggled my way into the lucrative writing career fourteen year old me always hoped I'd end up in. Granted, it's not Bestselling Author next to my name (yet!) but I absolutely love what I do. Learning to work with branding, copy, and web development is my fourth child and there's no job I'd rather be doing!

So far, I have eighteen months experience in longform web content, keyword research, updating blog SEO, tracking clicks, email marketing campaigns, newsletters, ghost writing and brand collaboration (writing for someone else's audience), social media scripts/captions and more... and I'm now looking to move into digital auditing and brand/content development in a management role.

Industries I have worked in include; academia, education, teaching, child development, cross-cultural experience, parenting, relationships and mental health. Other talents/interests I have are linguistics, eco/sustainability initiatives, STEM and art/art history.

I'll let you in on a secret... I'm not trying to be someone I'm just not... I'm a young mum of three with a crazy busy household and I spend my days indulging my over-active imagination by mulling over all things content marketing and limbering up 'til the next time I get to hit my keyboard to work. Call it, 'supporting-character-in-person, leading-lady-as-a-creative'. 'Boring-on-paper, dynamic-in-print'. You wouldn't meet me and think, "Yeah, she's definitely a creative", because it's likely my sweatshirt gives 'didn't have more than 5 mins before the school run'. But thanks to my mothering career, I've got those whack-a-mole, no time-wasting, organisational skills and I can switch on the all illusive chameleon creator effect to take on YOUR brand, YOUR story and YOUR voice with ease. I'm not going to be the impeccably made up face of your brand, but I will be the linguistic powerhouse behind it.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
As a Freelancer, I offer an initial, no charges or strings 45 min Google Meet. I get that you might be unsure whether freelance is the right fit for your business so I'm more than happy to answer any questions about your needs or my experience.
My hourly rate is £35 +5% payable by Stripe link (credit/debit card) at the end of every month.

I am a no contract freelancer, instead I tend to discuss tasks/projects with my clients as they arise over email to settle on deadlines, fees and any other expectations, and then share a google doc spreadsheet to track tasks and fees each month.

I am all about ideas and words and learning - and I am eager to continue on the development route in this ever-challenging and changing industry. So let's chat!
