About me

I've worked in advertising for just over 8 years and have led creative and copy for print, online, direct mail and TV, but my specialty is interactive. In my spare time I write editorial for a few local magazines and newspapers. I've been writing for over ten years.

I started out in marketing selling print media and managing accounts, an experience that gave me a solid understanding of the business from the top down. I learned that the best way to sell ad space was to sell my client the concept. Two pitches a day for a couple of years is good practice - and managing client relationships after the sell was good business.

I spent two years at Critical Mass, a leading North American interactive agency. I worked a lot on Dell, but also spent time on brands like Rolex, Hyatt, and Microsoft. We did everything there is to do in the online space: full sites, microsites, landing pages, SEO, online ads, email campaigns, subject lines, online branding, etc.

Currently I work as the Associate Creative Director at a small leading, shop called Suitcase Interactive. I lead creative, compose copy and content, help strategy side with IA and UX, and am always mindful about how to get the user to make that critical next click-through. I mentor and nurture junior staff, help guide process, and liaison with clients on a regular basis.

I'm a Canadian citizen, but hold an Irish passport as well. I am looking to find work in Europe as a senior copywriter, or an associate CD and copy lead.
