About me
Now freelance, I come from a publishing background, focusing on high quality academic and trade titles. Earlier years () spent in marketing department of publisher, producing direct mail, press adverts and subject catalogues. Later years () spent in design and production of the books themselves for same publisher. Throughout, developed the in-house production capabilities of firm through purchase and implementation of Macintosh desktop systems. To summarise, over my publishing career I have developed strong design and production skills across mono and 4C titles while keeping current with Macintosh hardware and associated publishing software.
Since going freelance at start of 2005, I have concentrated primarily on the design side, where I have worked on high extent books as well as shorter extent corporate reports and brochures. I have also provided freelance project management on some titles, taking scripts through from unedited manuscript to finished book. The design side of things does remain my primary interest and ideally I would like to carry that on from my office at home but all other sorts of arrangements can be considered!
