After completing a Commercial Art And Design course at Ware College I began my career in graphic designer with Zetters Pools and Swift Printers both London based companies before moving to a design studio in Watford. During this period of employment I also freelanced with small agencies to building my portfolio and experience, eventually going freelance full-time back in The West End of London working mainly around Soho for various Advertising Agencies and Design Studios. Working on clothing design patterns, London Tube Maps, a brochure for the Mary Rose and hundreds of agency pitches.
In the early 80s I was head hunted by Stephen Hood of the White Rooms PR Agency (Watford) (Creative Director) and this led to us setting up separate company Black & White Studios which thrived when our existing accounts merged.
In 1988 I was approached by PR agency Intech Laws Paul to head-up a partner company with equal shares. In 1991 my vision of investing in Apple wasn't my partners vision so I decided it was time to move on.
In 1992 I set up Bond Design Associates where I bought my first Mac. A basic Macintosh II with a 40 MB hard drive was $5,500 around £3000. Apple revolutionised the creative design industry. Companies I worked for included Standard Life Insurance on various shopping centre and retail park marketing projects, which included Whiteleys of London, Covent Garden, Churchill Square, Brighton.... name a few. Sonneti Casuals and Firetrap producing graphics for clothing and merchandising. I have also worked with NHS organisations, local District Council and for the travel industry Villa Plus producing brochures, press adverts and designing web pages and banner adverts for the web.
In 2014 I set up a limited company BDA Design And Print Limited. A continuation of Bond Design Associates but Limited for the high volume of purchasing.
