About Kerry
In July I graduated from The University of Bolton with a BA (Hons) Interior Design (2:1). I seek a challenging, long term position to utilise and develop the wide range of creative skills and experience I have gained during this course and feel the advertised position provides this opportunity. I am an extremely willing person, excited by new challenges and keen to show my proficiency in both practical and theoretical aspects of design.
I have worked with clients on a number of live briefs; one as winner of a design competition for the Achari Indian Restaurant in Bolton. I worked closely with the client, undertaking all aspects of redesign, from spatial planning to decor, furniture and furnishings. Being able to see walls demolished as a result of my design was breathtaking. Regular meetings were held with clients to develop designs, monitor budgets and ensure customer needs were continually met throughout the whole process.
Able to work independently or as part of a team I have developed advanced critical appraisal skills which enable me to evaluate clients' requirements and discuss these in an objective manner. I appreciate the historical and global influences in design, how design can change lives, the impact of relevant legislation and the many different materials used in interiors, their properties and uses.
