About me

I have recently graduated with an Upper Second Class BA Hons Degree in English Literature from Lancaster University. I have a strong passion for media after completing two work placements in local Editorial Departments within the last year and a half. On both placements I shadowed Reporters, Photographers and Editorial Assistants, which gave me direct insight into the varied and fast-paced nature of the media and Journalistic environments. Similarly, my professional writing skills were developed, in particular through the articles I helped produce for the Lancashire Evening Post's ‘Retro' Supplement. This was a valuable experience as it developed my ability to work within a high pressured environment whilst also heightening my awareness to the importance of working to tight deadlines.

Furthermore, following 7 years working directly with the public in various retail and hospitality roles, my communication skills are confident and professional. Additionally, such work experience not only developed my ability to work within a team, but it heightened my awareness to the importance of initiative and responsibility. For this reason I practice strict time management in addition to self motivation and organisation. I have also successfully completed The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) and so have strong typing skills and can confidently work with most computer based systems; something which has additionally aided my presentation abilities.

I am a determined individual who is unafraid of hard work in order to achieve my aspirations within the world of media. I have a fun, positive, yet focused attitude when it comes to working within a pressured environment to meet deadlines and targets. Finally, I am a passionate and dedicated individual who takes pride in her work and achievements.
