About me

A bit about my working life...

My greatest ambition is to fulfill my potential as a Graphic Designer and to succeed in the industry. You'll see below that I've designed for many different companies on a diverse range of projects. At this stage in my career, I can confidently say that I'm able to work with initiative both independently and as part of a team. The majority of my work has been print based, more recently I have taken on digital design responsibilities and have passed a beginners course in HTML & CSS coding. I love to learn new business practices and design skills to enhance my knowledge and in turn to further my career in graphic design.

My job history...

Creative Graphic Designer and Project Lead
Yewdale Corporation - Marketing depatment
December 2016 - Present

When relocating to Essex I wanted to find a more permenant position within a company rather than being a freelancer. With this role I am the lead creative for all on and offline marketing, including artwork for new product releases, e-shots, e-signatures, social and printed material; which comprises of brochures, price books, fabric books and technical instructions. Working alongside a team of two others but effectively managing my own time, deadlines and budgets. I have been challenged to learn a completely new industry, systems and working B2B rather than B2C. A highlight has been sourcing specialist suppliers and creating bespoke templates for fabric cards, slat books, binders and other marketing collateral.

Creative Graphic Designer
Hastings Borough Council - Marketing depatment
September 2015 - September 2016

In the summer of 2015 a major contract with a publishing company reduced their outgoings by not renewing my contract. To supplement the loss I applied for a part time, maternity cover position as graphic designer in the local Council. This position was demanding and varied, working with all of the different departments, from the Tourist Information Centre to Waste management. The council has introduced me to new internal applications including purchase requisitions, sourcing print locally with limited budgets, distant team working and managing workload and deadlines in restricted time frames.

Self Employed Graphic Designer
Kelly Bayman Design
January 2011 - November 2016

During all of my employment history I have always undertaken freelance projects. I had established a good client base and reputation by 2011 and decided that I would continue with self employment. I've worked for various companies, from a gift manufacturer and distributor to publishing, on a vast array of different projects including; magazines, marketing collateral, packaging, POS, advertising (web and print), branding, stationary, brochures, leaflets, flyers, posters, large format graphics and signage.

Graphic Designer and Artworker
FunToSee Ltd - Marketing department
November 2011 - March 2012

Designing and artworking bedroom wall stickers for children. Fun and varied role working on company designs and bespoke designs for high street department stores. Duties also include working on marketing material, presentations and updating websites. Unfortunately the business was sold and the company relocated to Leicester.

A bit about me as a person...

I was born abroad in Hong Kong and moved to Portugal when I was only 2 years old. I grew up on a farm (living the 'Good Life'!) in the Algarve and went to school at The International School of the Algarve, I met people from all around the world from a very young age. I ended up coming to England to go to boarding school, one in Surrey and one in Kent as my family believed the best start is a good education and I feel very privileged for these opportunities. Because of my upbringing I am inspired by traveling and see the world, I love to see new places and experience different communities. There's so much to see and experience in the World and I hope to see a lot of it over my lifetime!
