About me

I believe, that as I am a reliable, hard working, enthusiastic and creative individual, I am a very suitable candidate for this position. Furthermore, I am intuitive and have a mature approach to my work, and am able to work on my own initiative with minimal supervision. , having previously (outside of my course) assisted fashion photographer Steve Collinson on work flow/studio and location shoots. Steve also helped me to develop my photo editing skills so that I am able to get the very best from my subjects.

During group coursework I acted as project manager in the creation of several advertising campaigns for a variety of potential clients. Here I strategically put together and participated in research teams, design teams and accounts departments in which we created all final artwork and concept and budgets for national campaigns.

I have excellent communication skills, during my time at university I attended digital imaging classes which allowed me to become proficient at necessary adjustments to images, such as colour correction, pixel depth and size for a variety of media, including web and print. I have a good deal of relevant experience in image editing, colour profiling and re-sizing for large format printing using Epson and colour correction, I have 3 years experience working with Silverbased hand printing using Durst equipment. I am able to produce and manage a digital work flow using a variety of programmes, including Adobe Photoshop CS5, Lightroom and Adobe Bridge, and I am also proficient with film production software packages like Adobe Premier Pro and iMovie. I am also skilled in the use of both Mac and PC general office software, having used Microsoft Excel to create databases and spreadsheets, PowerPoint to prepare presentations and Word to prepare complex written documents.

Also during my time as a student I spent time assisting and supporting photographers on location, in particular I worked on several projects with Adrian Waine, a photographer based in Chester. I have also undertaken a good deal of freelance photography work over the course of my studies. Most recently this has involved me managing and running my own studio in Liverpool, and this has helped me become comfortable directing models and liaising with clients, while helping me learn how to operate in a business environment, drawing up contracts, model release forms and license to use forms, all of which skills I find transferable to many working situations. I am experienced to a more than capable level of setting up, measuring and using Bowes flash, tungsten lighting with digital slr (canon, Nikon) large format/medium format.

I would love to be part of an enviroment in which I can continuously develop and contribute with both my personal skills and the development of the company. I feel sure that your practice would benefit from employing someone with my enthusiasim and skill set, I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Kayley Cope
